The Jewelry Arts curriculum © of CIJT
is exceptional and is a comprehensive hands on program with intense
individual instruction, testing and state of the art equipment.
We have developed this program to give
you, the student a thorough knowledge of metal art, jewelry design and gemstones.
You can enroll with absolutely no experience and expect to receive a full well rounded education.
The successful completion of our program provides graduates with diplomas and certificates in Jewelry Repair, Jewelry Arts, and Advanced Jewelry Arts and prepares you for testing for JA Bench Certification.

- Curriculum is project oriented and 95% hands on
- Full time instructors experienced in the jewelry trade
- 7 hours per day (Mon - Thur), 1/2 day on Friday with open lab in the afternoon

Certificate in Jewelry Repair
(12 weeks - Modules 1 & 2)
Module 1 - Introduction of basic procedures used to develop skills as a fine jeweler. Techniques covered include working with metal, developing finger dexterity, soldering, shaping, and creating four prong settings and piercing. Also covered are the skills required to repair and renovate through retipping, repronging and shank redevelopment.
Module 2 - Advanced skills from Module I are included with a wide variety of techniques and increasing degrees of difficulty in fabrication, setting and resetting stones, including basket fabrication. Styles of settings include 4-prong, 6-prong, flush, bezel, gypsy, and channel. Restoration and repair of intricate pieces are covered in this module as well.

Certificate in Jewelry Arts
(18 weeks - Modules 1 - 2 plus Module 3)
Module 3 – Designed to challenge the student in all aspects of training from Modules I & II. Emphasis is placed on design, wax carving, model making, casting, molding, injection and finishing cast pieces. Pave’ setting, illusion tops, strip settings and additional bead settings are a strong part of this curriculum, along with setting of marquise, pear, princess and a variety of different shaped stones. Design and Rendering is included in this module.
Diploma in Advanced Jewelry Arts
(24 weeks - Modules 1 - 3 plus Module 4)
Module 4 – This module gives you the freedom to apply all the skills you have developed in the first three modules. Our students find this last module very exciting because it takes them beyond their critical thinking into the flow of true precision and creativity.

Certificate in Advanced Metal and Media Techniques
(6 weeks - Modules 5 & 6)
Module 5 – provides two specialized workshops of your choice for one week each and one week for practice and experimentation with the workshops. Our workshop students always want to stay longer and practice and we have made this possible. 3 Weeks- Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 4:30pm - 3 weeks - Fridays free day/ optional
